Getting Ready for Opening the Confucius Institute

27.02.2019

Last year, in November we held a ceremony in the Congress Center  of VŠFS. We uncovered a foundation plaque of the Confucius Institute of the University of Finance and Administration which is to be started this autumn. In the meantime, we have been intensively preparing its programme: language courses, cultural, sport and social events, etc. The Confucius Institute of the University of Finance and Administration will be different from other institutes due to its economic and entrepreneurial  think-tank. It will develop independent economic analyses on a regular basis that will be based on observing Czech and Chinese trends, as well as Euro-Chinese business and investment relations. A team of analysts will assess the trends in the area of exchanging goods and services and will also compare them with the trends of other European countries. The team will focus on direct business relations, as well as re-exports. It will observe an impact of Chinese investments on our and European economy and it will also observe development of European, or Czech investments in China. The important analytical activities will focus on comparing economic statistics related to economic cooperation published in China with those in the Czech Republic.

The think-tank will be a creditworthy and independent source for our entrepreneurs, as well as for public institutions, or media. It’s ambition is to interlink naturally Czech and Chinese scientists, to monitor mutual publications and research projects. It’s aim is to organize workshops focused on mutual  trade , research and student exchanges, as well as setting up spin-off and start-up projects.
