VSFS expanding its International Summer programs

10.08.2018

This year, traditionally, The University of Finance and Administration (VSFS) welcomed students from abroad to join our “Summer Programs 2018”. Usually, VSFS runs 2 main programs, Summer program with City University of Seattle and Summer High School program with CETYS University. These were organized this year as well; however, in addition VSFS organized Open Summer Program for the very first time this year. To sum up, this summer VSFS organized 3 summer programs at the same time and over 125 students from all around the world has come! What a great program to enrich students with international experience.

Students from USA, Mexico, Chile, China etc. spent their summer at VSFS. First ones to arrive to Prague were students from City University of Seattle, group of 65 students to stay for 3 busy weeks of classes in Project Management and Psychology, cultural activities, trips, company visits etc. They were followed by students, individuals, from all around the world to our Open Summer program, which lasted for 10 days and was oriented on International Business. The last but not least were to arrive high school students from CETYS High School to attend 10 days for Summer program focusing mainly on Czech and European History and Culture as well as exploring Prague and Czech Republic.

Each program provided students with unique and unforgettable experience. The CityU Summer program students studied Project Management, attended company visits such as Foxcon, Czech National Bank, Motol Hospital and National Institute of Mental Health. They also gain experience from cultural trip to UNESCO Heritage visits to Kutna Hora and Cesky Krumlov as well as they attended International Conference Day. At the end, students presented their final projects during the official evaluation day of the summer program.

The Open Summer program offered to students intensive classes in International Business as well as the Czech History and Culture class at the beginning of the program. Students also attended cultural trips and company visits to gain experience and explore European and Czech business, culture and mentality of people.

Traditionally the high school students from CETYS High school attended less academic and more cultural program. The program is more and more popular at CETYS as the number of students is growing and we have extended the program from original 7 days up to 10 days this year. Students enjoyed many cultural visits to cities such as Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Terezin and Vienna. Students met with the Mexican Ambassador as well as attended Czech Histroy and Culture class. However, rafting on river Vltava and watching ice hockey game for the first time were activities which students enjoyed the most.

The main aim of the summer programs at the University of Finance and Administration is to provide students with knowledge, unique experience and fun in international environment. We hope for the international programs at VSFS to grow and next year we do believe to have even more students than this year.
