Czech and Slovak teams reach the finals

28.04.2016

The international competition "Global Management Challenge" took place in Macau this year. Finishing in fourth and sixth place Slovak and Czech teams made this year among the most successful ever.  The Slovak team competed for the very first time this year and the Czech team made it's first trip to the finals after several years.

The Slovak team was sponsored by Delloite and built by the Business Economy Faculty of the University of Economics.  Made up of members Lenka Dankova, Veronica Mackanicova, Nikola Tancakova, Josef Lukac and Martin Mucha the team came just short of the winners' podium.

The Czech team from the University of Pardubice was sponsored by Skoda Auto and included members Lucie Jelinkova, Lukas Kruml and Michal Vilimek.  They defeated team Morocco which they had faced even in the semifinals.

The international final for next year will take place in Qatar.  New to the competition is the rule that players who have represented their country more than twice (regardless of the team) will not be allowed to compete.  This element was added to give more opportunity to new players.

Final placement in the International Final of the GMC in Macau:

5th Place: Latvia

6th Place: Czech Republik

The managing partner of this year's competition was J&T Bank, main partners Skoda Auto and CSOB.  A big thanks to one of the academic partners of the competition, The University of Pardubice, who sent the most teams this year (14 in total) and has already expressed their intention to be involved again next year.
