On Monday, 10th November 2014, 14th International Managerial Competition on Global Management Challenge started in the Congress Centre of the University. The University of Finance and Administration is the organizer of the competition for the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the winners of the national rounds are rewarded with free MBA Study Programme as the first prize.

Global Management Challenge is the biggest world competition in the area of simulated management of firms. Each competitive team is in charge of one model Business Company with which they operate on virtual markets of the EU, NAFTA and on the internet with a view to achieving the highest possible appreciation of investments and the best market status based on the obtained profit. This criterion shall define the winning company on the market, i.e. the winning team of the competition.

„Teams consisting of 3-5 members compete in three rounds at the national level. The winners of the national rounds then proceed to the international finals that shall take place from 21st till 23rd April 2015 in Prague,“ says Petr Budinský, Vice-Rector for Education and External Relations of the University of Finance and Administration, which is the guarantor of the Competition for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. „GMC is primarily intended for university students; however, even young active managers could apply,“ adds vice-rector Budinský.

What are the benefits of this competition for the students and young managers? They will perfectly understand the atmosphere of managing a firm in a highly unstable and competitive environment of world markets. They may also obtain important contacts because as participants in the competition they will get a chance to consult their decisions with top managers of big companies – this year´s general partners of the competition are J&T Bank and Škoda Auto. „We count on and cooperate with students and graduates in the long term. We consider them inspiration as well as future colleagues. As part of GMC, we have a chance to meet talented young individuals who are offered lots of opportunities, says Zita Václavíková, Director of HR J&T Bank which is the general partner of GMC.

The timetable of the competition as well as detailed description of the rules and other information related to GMC are available on the University website (www.vsfs.cz/gmccz).
