On Friday, November 30, 2012 the first annual floorball tournament for the VŠFS Cup took part in the sport hall of Tatran Střešovice. Twelve, mainly boy teams, but also a few mixed ones, presented their skills on the tarkett, mostly loved by floorball masters. The Association of Scgools had also its representation – the team of the Bank Academy which, however, did not manage, in the strong competition, proceed.
The basic part of the competition played at a fast tempo
Organizers of the first annual tournament faced a difficult task when they had to deal with a doublefold interest of participants. Ten Prague teams and two out-of-Prague ones were divided into three groups, each of four. Only winners of the basic part of the competition proceeded, the teams on the second place competed in the D group of an extra round for the last semifinal place. The first matches already showed that the secondary school students did not hold their floorball sticks for the first time. Between 8:30 and 14:00 favourites were slowly getting born and some exra-league young talents were found. The game was fast and, apart from one, there were no fights, and thus about 14:30 it was possible to fill in the draw with four semifinal teams in line with the time schedule. The winner of the group A was the Business Academy Heroldovy Sady, in the group B it was Gymnázium Budějovická. Gymnázium Opatov won the group C and the winner of the mixed group D was in the end the Business Academy Dušní with a winning margin of only one goal.
Good quality floorball in the play off
The play off started at a fast tempo. Thanks to a growing dominant game of the player No. 3, Gymnázium Opatov was controlling the match and condemned Gymnázium Budějovická with the score 3:1 to the fight for the bronz medal. The Business Academy Dušní and Heroldovy sady played in the second semifinal round. The Business Academy Heroldovy sady was a clear favourite of this round with its score 4:0. The matches for bronz and gold were then very dramatic till the last second. It was especially the final match which was equal for long. When the audience started to look forward to separate attacks, Martin Pražan (a player of the extra-league team Pedro Peréz Florbal Chodov) won the match for Gymnázium Opatov. The final score was 2:1.

1st place – winner – Gymnázium Opatov
2nd place – silver medal – BA Heroldovy sady
3rd place – bronz medal – BA Dušní
4th place – potato medal – Gymnázium Budějovická
Three individual prizes for extraordinary performance in the tournament were awarded by jury. Ondřej Lupoměch became the best goalkeeper of the tournament, the above mentioned „extra-league“ Martin Pražan was chosen as the best player. Both of them come from Gymnázium Opatov. Matouš Budíček from BA Heroldovy sady with his seven scored goals became the best goal scorer.
