Financial Markets 2021 Conference
On 27th - 28th May 2021, the Department of Finance of the VŠFS organized the 10th international conference Financial Markets 2021, this time with the subtitle "Innovation and Sustainability". Contrary to tradition, the conference took place in an online environment via the MS Teams application. As in previous years, the conference was held under the auspices of Mr Ing. Jiří Rusnok, the Governor of the Czech National Bank.
The conference was opened by Associate Professor RNDr. Petr Budinský, CSc., Vice-Rector for Strategy and International Relations of the VŠFS. The keynote speech was delivered by Ing. Aleš Michl, Czech National Bank Board member and Chief Executive Director, and JUDr. Ing. Lenka Dupáková, Ph.D., Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic. The individual thematic blocks were devoted to the following topics:
- Perspectives of the development of the Czech financial and capital markets in the stage of the Czech economy restart after the coronavirus crisis.
- Czech financial and capital markets in the stage of restoring economic prosperity and growth after 2020.
- Fintech and other technologies as a tool for deepening the financial market and improving the quality of financial services in the coming years.
- Conditions for the development of the Czech capital market in terms of financing innovative investment programs of companies in the stage of restoring economic prosperity and growth after 2020.
The second day of the conference was dedicated to academics and students from the VŠFS, both domestic and international, who presented interesting papers on various trending topics. The panels were moderated by Associate Professor JUDr. Ing. Otakar Schlossberger, Ph.D., Vice-Dean for Research and Publications of the Faculty of Economic Studies and Head of the Department of Finance of the VŠFS, and Ing. Eva Kostikov, Ph.D., Deputy Head of the Department of Finance of the VŠFS.
