University management has been on another successful journey to China

11.07.2017

Emil Šenkýř, Vice Chairman of the VŠFS Board, Petr Budinský, Vice Rector for Educational Activities, and Roman Mentlík, Vice Rector for Foreign Relations visited China, this time from 7th to 15th June 2017. The journey, which consisted of four parts, was presented in a brief report by Roman Mentlik:

The first part was the meeting with the General Consul of the Czech Republic in Shanghai, Richard Krpáč, where we introduced our successful study program for Chinese students from the University of Changchun (Triple Degree) and plans to develop cooperation with other universities from the South China region. The General Consul has promised maximum support for these activities.

Subsequently, we moved to Ningbo, where we took part in "The 3rd China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo" from 8th to 11th June 2017.

The 3rd China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo

It was a trade fair in the format 16 plus 1, i.e. 16 European countries and China where opportunities for cooperation in all areas, including education, were presented at the 4th China Ningbo-CEEC Education Cooperation Conference. On the first day, we signed a memorandum of cooperation with Zheijang Wanli University in Ningbo.

During this conference, we had a number of meetings, including two presentations: at a seminar attended by representatives of the Czech Embassy and representatives of the local government, as well as in the plenary session.

Mr. Roman Mertlík

Mr. Petr Budinský

In both cases, we introduced not only our university, but again our very successful Chinese students’ study program within the Triple Degree program. The meeting with representatives of the Czech-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and other exhibiting companies such as Škoda car or Lobkowicz Group Breweries was also very interesting.

Subsequently, we flew to Changchun in the evening where we had many meetings and discussions. Surely the most challenging was a workshop with students who will start studying in Prague in September. This is already the third group, bringing the total number of Chinese students at our university to almost a hundred.

In the end, we were accepted by the University representatives.

We concluded our trip around China in Beijing, where we discussed with representatives of the Czech Embassy (including Klára Jurčová) about further deepening the cooperation and the involvement of VŠFS in China's education activities.
