The international finals of the Global Management Challenge competition were won by the Russia team. The Slovak team won the excellent third position! Congratulations.
The international competition finals took place on 18th September in Sochi. The total of eight best teams (two from each final group) advanced to the semi-finals. The eight-member finals had a clear winner – the Russia team following up to their victory two years ago and to their fourth position a year ago. The Russia Team was unquestionably the best; however, after them it was a very close contest.
The second position was won by the China team that improved one place on their position of last year. We must be cheered by the third position won by the Slovak team in a tough competition. They were closing on the China team in the final battles and the ultimate placing showed just minimal difference between both teams.
The Slovak team utilized their rich experience in their last-year participation in the international finals where they finished sixth. The Slovak team was made up of following players: Juraj Privrel, Matej Privrel, Darina Privrelová, Marek Štefunkov and Anna Galbavá. In Sochi, the team was also accompanied by the deputy sponsor of the team as well as the deputy general partner of the whole competition J&T Bank in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia, Stanislav Pánis.
The other teams finished as follows: 4. India, 5. Ivory Coast, 6. Ghana, 7. Romania, 8. Brazil. The results were announced as part of the ceremony by Pedro Alves Costa, director of the competition, representative of company SPG. Vice-rector Petr Budinsky, representative of our university, had a short presentation at the end of the ceremony where he invited all the participants to the next international finals that will be hosted by the University of Finance and Administration next year. The finals will take place on 21 – 23 April in Prague.
