The VŠFS University Sport Club

15.05.2013

Vysoká škola finanční a správní is setting up a sport club with the cooperation of Bohemians Praha 1905.

A significant project of cooperation between a university and one of the traditional Prague footbal clubs (VŠFS and Bohemians Praha 1905) is being developed on the Czech academic scene. The university agreed on the partnership with the management of the club this year in April. This partnership will bring many advantages for VŠFS students as well as for Bohemians footballers. VŠFS is a member of the School Association – a unique system of all levels of schools – and therefore VŠFS is able to offer to its partner educational programmes for children, youngsters and adults and to guarantee not only the follow- up of individual educational levels but also high quality teaching and an individual attitude to students.

The aim of the project is the systemic support of students, graduates and employees of VŠFS in sport activities on both the top or recreational levels. This support will take the form of financial or material help which will create better conditions for sport and studies for the selected students. Further, the VŠFS will develop, through the university sport club, the idea of ,sport for all‘ by organizing sport activites itself or through its partners.

„We are very pleased that the football club Bohemians Praha 1905 accepted our offer and decided to participate on the development of the university sport club. The VŠFS thus becomes one of the first private universities in our republic which has started such a cooperation and we expect many positive results“, said the VŠFS Rector Bohuslava Šenkýřová when signing the contract.
The VŠFS is the first private economic university in the CR. With its 5,000 students it belongs among the top private Czech universities and thus it ranks among important players in the area of education. Through its partnership with Bohemians Praha 1905 the school reacts on the long-criticized, falling physical condition of young people. The project of the University Sport Club will offer new sport activities and meaningful use of leisure time to its students.
